About Udyam

The children with special needs are indeed special; they are a treasure house of potential and possibility. All they need is a little nudge in the right direction and a little support from us. Both Government of India and Government of Odisha have a slew of measures for this little angles but accessing them is a challenge they face every day. Against this background UDYAM web portal was conceived. UDYAM is a web based portal and a mobile application developed by Samagra Shiksha unit under Education Department district Subarnapur. It aims to provide an online platform to children with special needs, through this platform, the children with special needs in elementary and secondary Schools can access various govt. entitlements such as escort allowance, transport allowance, stipend for girls CWSN, Books Stationary allowance and uniform allowance.
Traditionary hard copy of application for various govt. Entitlement was taken physically every year. The parents along with their children have to visit several govt. offices to get their application processed. More over this exercise have to be done every year. This was not only time consuming but also physically and emotionally adjusting both for the parents as well as their children. Through UDYAM the entire process is digitised and papers less. The application are received and processed online. At each stage the applicant received a confirmatory SMS, it also create a database of the information already submitted. So that the same documents need not be submitted repeatedly. All stake holders like district and block level officers, headmasters and applicants have access to the status of application submitted. Thus it aims to provide a seamless access to children with special need where they can claim their rights with peace and dignity right from the comfort of their homes. Samagra Shiksha

The Union Budget, 2018-19, has proposed to treat school education holistically without segmentation from pre-nursery to Class 12. Samagra Shiksha - an overarching programme for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class 12 has been, therefore, prepared with the broader goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes. It subsumes the three erstwhile Schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE). This sector-wide development programme/scheme would also help harmonise the implementation mechanisms and transaction costs at all levels, particularly in using state, district and sub-district level systems and resources, besides envisaging one comprehensive strategic plan for development of school education at the district level. The shift in the focus is from project objectives to improving systems level performance and schooling outcomes which will be the emphasis of the combined Scheme along-with incentivizing States towards improving quality of education.

The major objectives of the Scheme are provision of quality education and enhancing learning outcomes of students; Bridging Social and Gender Gaps in School Education; Ensuring equity and inclusion at all levels of school education; Ensuring minimum standards in schooling provisions; Promoting Vocationalisation of education; Support States in implementation of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
